The Adoption Doula
As a doula I have a special interest in supporting  birth
mothers choosing adoption for their babies and the adoptive
family. I am a mother,  grandmother and adoptee myself with
an amazing adoptive family and a wonderful experience
later in life in meeting my own birth mother and family. I feel
I am uniquely prepared to support families during adoption. I
have been the doula at many adoptive births, and help plan
and  prepare birth plans and support systems for both the
adoptive family and the birth mother. When the emotional
and physical needs of both parties are met, the process and
health outcomes are greatly improved. I would love to talk to

Doulas support both the Adoptive Family and the
Birth Mother by providing:

  • Education and birth planning for the birth mother and
    the adoptive family.

  • Knowledge that the birth mother is emotionaly supported
    throughout the birth process resulting in less stress and
    better outcomes.

  • Postpartum support for the birth mother and adoptive
    family for processing both the birth experience and the
    adoption experience.

  • Postpartum doula support for the adoptive family.

Private Childbirth Education Classes: 3 hours of private instruction
