| As your postpartum doula I care for the family after the birth of a baby.I help help you to incorporate this new baby into your life. I help you to learn about your newborn and his/her needs. A large part of my role is education. I share information about baby care with parents as well as teach sibblings to and partners how they can help and get to know the new family member. As a lactation specialist I assist with breastfeeding support and information. I also make sure the mother is fed, well hydrated, and comfortable. I am trained in postpartum adjustment, newborn characteristics, care, feeding, development, and the promotion of parent-infant bonding. I am experienced in supporting families through the postpartum experience, with a single baby or multiples. Coming into the home during the fourth trimester after the birth my role is to provide education, non-judgemental support and companionship, and to assist with newborn care. I offer evidence based information on infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from birth, infant soothing and coping skills for new parents and can make appropriate referrals when necessary. I am a certified postpartum doula through Doulas of North America International. Dona.org.I have Infant CPR certification as well. Postpartum doula service is $30.00 per hour..
